State Of The Nation Address 2015 – There was drama in the South African Parliament as EFF members were forcibly removed from Parliament during State of The Nation Address 2015.

Drama started at the State of The Nation Address 2015 when a member of the DA addressed the speaker about the cell phone feed being jammed highlighting that it is a violation of the constitution. Mbete the speaker of Parliament responded by saying she would have the secretary look into it. Another member of parliament also addressed the speaker and said proceedings could not go ahead with the signal blocked.

After the signalled was unblocked President Jacob Zuma started his State of The Nation Address 2015 but was shortly interrupted by an EFF MP. The EFF member  addressed the speaker and said he wanted to address a question to the President according to Rule 14 on a question of privilege. The Speaker then told the EFF MP that Parliament had assembled for the State of The Nation Address 2015 and not a question and answer session. Objections continued from EFF members with them demanding to know when the President would pay back the public funds he used for his Nkandla home according to the report released by the Public Protector.

Mbete afterwards ordered Julius Malema and all the EFF members to leave the house. After Malema refuses to leave the house security forces are called in to remove EFF  members. There is chaos in parliament as armed security forces enter the house and forcibly remove the EFF members. Live broadcast did not show the EFF members being forcibly removed but thanks to social media everything was recorded.

After the EFF members were removed from the house DA leader Maimane addresses the speaker and demands to know if it was the South African Police Service that had entered the house as it is a constitutional violation. After the speaker and the National Council Of Provinces (NCOP)  chair fails to give a clear answer members of the DA walk out of Parliament.

Afterwards President Jacob Zuma continued with his State of The Nation address 2015.
