Steven Gerrard is set to play for LA Galaxy. It was recently announced through Liverpool’s official website that Gerrard would be leaving the club at the end of the current season. In his official statement Steven Gerrard had indicated that he wished to play where he would not line up against Liverpool and his move to LA Galaxy will ensure that.
LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena reportedly confirmed the news in an interview with the LA Times. Arena described Steven Gerrard as a player of quality and said he is not concerned about where he will fit the player in his squad. The Galaxy coash also added that his club has proven history of success and because of this it is attractive to players such as Gerrard.
According to fifa.com the Red’s captain describes his decision to join LA Galaxy as a match made in heaven. The Liverpool legend attributed his decision to Join LA Galaxy to the recent success they have had. Gerard says he wishes to finish his career on a high and hopes to add some medal and trophies to his collection.
Chris Klein the president of LA Galaxy described Gerrard as the perfect fit. The Red’s captain will move to his new team in July after the end of the current season with Liverpool.
