ZANU PF will not survive without Robert Mugabe

Robert Mugabe

Grace Mugabe Zimbabwe’s first lady believes that ZANU PF will find it difficult to survive without her husband Robert Mugabe. She stated this whilst addressing and rally in Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe.

Robert Mugabe who is now 90 years old has led Zimbabwe as its president since the country’s independence in 1980.

Zimbabwe’s first lady told the crowd that ZANU PF lacks quality leaders like her husband. If Robert Mugabe is to quit politics ZANU PF would miss her husband’s rare leadership qualities. She described the president of Zimbabwe as a man on integrity.

Grace Mugabe’s statements only add to the speculation that her entrance into politics is a move to eventually succeed Robert Mugabe as president of Zimbabwe.  The entrance of Zimbabwe’s first lady couldn’t have come at a better time to confuse people as she comes into politics at a time when there is a succession debate over Robert Mugabe.

Mrs Mugabe’s entrance into politics has left a lot wondering what is going to happen to the two factions that where believed to exist in ZANU PF. The one faction is said to be led by Vice President Joice Mujuru. The other one is led by Emmerson Mnangagwa who is currently the justice minister.

Both parties have denied of being leaders of any faction. Whether the factions exist or not, one thing we know is that you would not want to find yourself on the wrong side of Robert Mugabe’s wife.

Whether the Mugabe’s intend to create a dynasty to rule Zimbabwe remains to be seen and only time will tell.
