The Absa Study loan offers financing for SETA and SAQA courses, textbooks, accommodation and equipment fees. This loan can be applied for by the student or you can also apply it for your loved one who is taking some studies.

Absa Study loan offers competitive interest rates. As a customer you get 15% discount on study equipment when you apply for the loan. The Absa Study loan forms part of the student package, which includes a student credit card and a cheque account.

As a customer you also get access to a credit protection plan. This plan covers the outstanding amount of the Absa Study loan in the events of death, disability, dread disease or retrenchment.

Absa Study loans are offered at Absa student bureaus situated in South Africa’s leading tertiary institutions. Application can also be done at Absa sales contact centre and selected Absa branches throughout the country.

For repayment of the Absa Student Loan, the student is expected to pay only the loan interest until graduation if the course is longer than 12months. If course is less than 12months, the student will have to pay back both loan and interest in 12months.

Requirements To Qualify For Absa Study Loan

  1. Customers must earn a minimum of R3 000 per month
  2. Student must have passed matric
  3. The student must be enrolled or in the process of enrolling at a university or recognized college either as a full-time or part-time student
  4. Proof of registration and quotation of study fees
  5. The course of study must be SETA or SAQA accredited
  6. Copy of ID for student
  7. Sponsor’s ID, Banking details and Proof of income
  8. Proof of residence
