Volkswagen has unveiled a new five-seater mid-size SUV concept car called the Volkswagen Cross Coupe GTE. The Volkswagen Cross Coupe GTE was unveiled at the North Americn International auto Show in Detroit, Michigan.
The Volkswagen Cross Coupe GTE is a plug-in hybrid , all-wheel drive and has a 3.6 litre V6 petrol engine in combination with 2 electric motors. The V6 direct injection engine (FSI) delivers 205kW and a maximum torque of 350Nm. The two electric motors which are fed by 14.1kWh lithium-ion battery deliver 40kW and 220Nm (front) and 85kW and 270Nm (rear) for a total output of 264kW.
The Volkswagen Cross Coupe GTE has a top speed of 210km/h and accelerates to 100km/h in just 6 seconds. The SUV can be driven in five different power modes, namely E-Mode, Hybrid, GTE, Offroad and Battery hold / Battery charge.
Drivers of the SUV will have several driving profiles; Road (with sub-modes comfort and eco), Off-road (with rocks, sludge & sand and gravel), Sport and Snow.
